Fucking DotNetNuke

This fucking CMS sucks.

First I tried to upgrade to the latest version this morning. I followed all the instructions precisely but the upgrade completely broke this blog, causing a ton of database access errors. So I tried upgrading the blog module, hoping that would fix it. No change. I backed off and restored my backup. Everything looked OK, but then I couldn’t post new blog entries. (Not that I do that terribly often, I know) I had to reinstall the blog upgrade. And now the upgrade fucked up the way the blog displays.

I’m pretty sick of this rinkydink bullshit. There are problems with this piece of crap that I hoped the upgrade would fix, but all it did was cause me a bunch of headaches. DNN’s site states that blogs are the #1 most popular use of their CMS software, so why the hell would their upgrade break the blog?

I’m seriously considering switching to another product, like Umbraco. It would suck to have to rebuild the site though. Gah.

edit: obviously I am no longer running DotNetNuke on this site
